Mykonos Guide

It’s no wonder that Mykonos is the most famous island on the Mediterranean Sea. Beautiful beaches, incredible restaurants, great hospitality, and non-stop parties are some of the components that make up this special island. I can’t find one reason not to like Mykonos. People from all over the world and all walks of life enjoy it because there is something there for everyone. You make it what you want to, you can go to relax, to party, to go on a family vacation, to visit beach clubs, to shop and to eat amazing meals. You can also do Mykonos on a budget or you can splurge. It’s a very versatile place.

There are many amazingly beautiful hotels and villas in Mykonos, but I found that the most convenient (for me) is to stay in town where you have walking access to shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs. But either way, you should rent a car or hire a driver because there are very limited taxis in Mykonos. And trust me, you will want to venture out and see different parts of the island. Many great places are scattered about.

The beach clubs are so tasteful. Here are the ones that I recommend:

Alemagou located in Ftelia, Alemagou is a gorgeous and elegant restaurant with an extremely laid back vibe. The menu is delicious (both food and cocktail list)! The beach is small and relaxing. They provide sunbeds for rent so you can choose to lounge there either before or after your meal. There is also a boutique with cool boho fashion.

Principaute de Mykonos- Panormos Beach Amazing beach club with tons of sun beds. The beach is absolutely gorgeous with pristine waters. This place is classy and elegant without being pretentious. The food and service are great. Good place to lounge around on the big white comfy couches while sipping on delicious cocktails or layout on the beach on their sun beds.

Scorpios–  What a place this is! Located on Paranga beach, this is the newest addition to the Mykonos beach clubs list. This is the epitome of cool meets class. The décor is spectacular. The place sits on a cliff overlooking the sea but it gives you easy access to the sea. You can choose to rent their sun beds or cabanas so you can lounge around or simply sit at the bar sipping on their delicious cocktails. Scorpios also has parties on selected nights.

The most popular beach club in Mykonos is Nammos. I had heard about their crazy parties before so I had to go see it. It wasn’t for me, only because I wanted to do something more relaxing. But if you’re with a group of friends and want a packed place with lots of energy then this is for you. Here you will find the DJ playing loud music and people dancing on tables.

Hippie Fish beautiful restaurant located right on the water. We came here for lunch, it was delicious. They have a nice selection of sushi amongst other Greek influence flavors on the menu. The fish is so fresh!

Kiki’s Tavern located on Agios Sostis Beach, this place is the real deal. This is the best lunch spot in Mykonos. Go for lunch or a very early dinner because they close at 7pm since they don’t have electricity. There is no sign to announce its presence and it’s tucked away under the trees. If there is a wait, boxed wine and water is provided while you wait.

Nautilus– located in the center of the city, this restaurant offers contemporary Greek flavors. Staff is very friendly, service is quick, and the food is outstanding.

Avra– also located in Mykonos town, the setting and ambience is romantic and relaxing. Outdoor seating in a garden. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious.

Astra– great little lounge bar in town. Music is great.

Moni– deep house music is played here. Fun place with a good crowd.

Head over to Little Venice to watch the sunset; there are countless bars and restaurants along the strip.
